With a five-part performance series, Berlin Art Week will explore ›BAW Garten‹ at Kindl—Center for Contemporary Art. The extensive programme of outreach and education and this meeting point during the festival week are a novel addition. We want to use the performative moment to explore and get a feel for the space, to take it in spatially, sonically, physically, and visually.
Our guest at ›BAW Garten‹: Mura Kollektiv
›reflecting oneself through space‹, is a performance installation that takes a closer look at the relationship between the senses and the environment that the performer is placed within. In an age of information overload, this solo zooms into how the body processes the information of the internal (within the body) and external (outside of the body) environments through both cognitive and emotional processes. These processes consist of interpreting, analyzing, and remembering, while using information about the social world to reflect back on how we view ourselves in relation to others, studying how our behavioural patterns change accordingly. The physical task based practice within the work is based around the study of the nervous system, focusing on the waves of the traveling information and the constant shifts inside our body.
