The sound installation gives literal visibility to the process of creating, sharing and playing music. Working in opposition to the black box paradigm, it engages with recycling processes. 'Open source and the sharing of resources are key to appropriating the autonomy of developing devices and technologies, in opposition to a system that wants us to be dependent on them' says Pagan.
Naked Music reflects the DIY approach of Luca Pagan to sound design and engineering. To produce the music, indeed, the Italian born musician and researcher built his own MaxMsp-based DAW and a complete set of hardware he uses to manipulate its digital samplers and effects
Luca Pagan (1993, Venezia) is an Italian sound artist and researcher. He focuses on contemporary media arts, especially on the link between sound and technology. His work is based on software development and music instruments design.
