#OUTDOOR #MUSICLISTENING #DISCUSSIONGROUP 5:00 - 8:00 pm CEST (3 hours) in Acud Courtyard The event will take place outside, so we will be able to leave space between each other. In case of bad weather, the listening session will take place online on Thursday, 17th September 7:30pm - 10:30pm. * Deadline to register is Friday 11th September 6pm. * About Zusammen Zuhören How do we listen? Which words do we use to describe our experience of music and sound? How can we honor our individual sonic tastes while building toward a collective understanding of the value and joy of music? Zusammen Zuhören is a monthly music listening and discussion group for music professionals and professionals who work with music, appearing as part of ACUD’s COLLECTIVE PRACTICES program. Rooted in a deep listening practice, Zusammen Zuhören is designed as a safe, attentive online meeting space to discover, decode, and discuss the distinct elements we perceive in music that stimulate us. By critically discussing what makes us distinguish certain musical expressions, and exposing those unique responses to the frequencies of sound, we strengthen and encourage our ability to create and work with musical material across collaborative disciplines. Zusammen Zuhören is a platform for exchanging ideas and skills around music, sound, composition, recording, and performance. It fosters artistic connections across various disciplines and practices in the shared experience of listening and discussion. How to participate: Our fourth meeting will be held at ACUD’s courtyard. Register by sending us an email to collective.practices@acudmachtneu.de, including your name and some brief info about your practice with music. We welcome a wide spectrum of practices with music, for example you could be active as musicians, DJs, producers, composers, singers, directors, choreographers, video-artists, bookers, label-owners, dancers, students... Each meeting is open to 10 individuals, and registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Once you have registered and been admitted, please prepare to send us a piece of music that really inspires you or that you have a strong emotional connection to, no longer than 8 minutes. Please keep your chosen music a secret until the event! We will use headphones for listening, so that everyone will be able to listen attentively. We'll listen to and discuss music we love. This meeting will take place each month, so if you cannot take part in this session, there will be a chance to register for a future date. — COLLECTIVE PRACTICES — In the series COLLECTIVE PRACTICES spanning several months, Andrea Goetzke, Daniela Silvestrin, Inga Seidler and their team of cultural producers will examine “collective practice” as it relates to artistic creation, cultural organizing and social coexistence. Invited to this exploration are scientists, artists and researchers. Originally conceived as an experiment to gain more experience with the topic, the project is now caught up in a global pandemic in which our interdependence is becoming that much more evident. As the topic of “collective practices” has now taken on a whole new dimension and relevance, we are reformatting the program so that it can already begin online. http://collectivepractices.acudmachtneu.de/ Since 2014 the initiative ACUD MACHT NEU operates three spaces at Kunsthaus ACUD. The aim is to offer room for discourse, exchange and experimental artistic formats. Further projects of Acud Macht Neu are: the artist development program Amplify and the discussion series Kapsel about science fiction literature from China.
