LUKE BURR (UK) //// Soul / England Born in Essex, 22 year old Luke Burr found his love for music through listening to his father’s old soul records. At just five years old and Inspired by the incredible voices of people like Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and George Benson, Luke started singing and playing piano. His flair for performing was triggered at fifteen, when he booked his first few gigs at some local pubs (and a few dives!), word started to spread of this ‘local teenager with the voice beyond his years’, this prompted more and more people to start turning up to every show. After seeing what songs would resonate with the people of Hornchurch, Luke started to write his own music, all while achieving top grades in his class and much to the dismay of his teachers Luke decided to skip a University education to concentrate solely on his music career. Her music could either be the latest import straight from space at your local vinyl store or the mangled soundscape of a masquerade in a 22nd century castle. The Transylvanian producer set up her laboratory in the western part of Berlin, where she creates a vivid blend of surrealist production and minimalistic vocal performance style. Jinka's previous releases received support from Wonderland Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Milk Magazine and Indie Shuffle and were listed on Spotify NMF US, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Turkey and Iceland. Her single 'Countdown Forever' is also part of the H&M in store playlist. LISTEN: https://soundcloud.com/jinkamusic/sets/releases KALON (D) //// Indie Pop, Rock / Deutschland Berlin Indie rock quartet KALON was formed in 2017 by guitarist Tobias Hanel & lead singer Janik Setz. Setz & Hanel met at a concert in a Bar in Berlin district Neukölln. Both have a strong passion for the same clothing brands, beautiful women & rock music so that´s why they decided to start a band together. After writing a couple of songs they have started to promote their music through dating apps to build a following and to engage with an audience. Their fresh, impulsive rock sound combines the youthful recklessness of the earlier Arctic Monkeys with powerful guitars of The Strokes or The Who. Their debut single “Gotta Let Go“ was released in June 2018. The self-produced single was recorded in Berlin and mixed by Audio Engineer Richard Flack who has worked with Florence & The Machine, Palma Violets and Queens Of The Stone Age. The band recently recorded more songs in a studio in Berlin which will be released by the end of the year. While they’ve been successfully touring through the U.K., Germany and Norway they´re spending most of their time in the studio working on their first EP. We believed it was about time to present to you our favourite acts on stage. In 2019 we are happy to continue with four more events. Småll Sessions is a berlin based music channel for acoustic music. We have been producing acoustic sets with bands like Years & Years, Rhodes, Anne-Marie and Honne. We have reached over sevenmillion views, so let’s take it to the next level together. We are teaming up with Handpicked Artists to present our event in the perfect venue: the Auster Club in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg. The simple idea: three artists – one stage - one night.
